A large international community means that the village of Mijas offers every imaginable amenity that a resident or visitor could require. Local supermarkets, pharmacy and laundry facilites mean residents need never leave the confines of this beautiful village.
You name it you can find it in Mijas, even if you want English style birthday cakes, recruitment agencies with jobs in Gibraltar or an Iceland suppermarket, it is all within easy reach of Mijas
The cobbled streets also offer several craft and souvenir shops that feature many hidden treasures just like you can get back home if you were on one of the Lake District holidays. Many artists and writes having found inspiration in the quiet village life have set up home here and supply local craft shops with their hand made pottery and beautiful paintings and prints. Two acclaimed local artists are Don Clarke and Michele Lehmann and their works are displayed in several of these local shops.
Larger shops and supermarkets can be found at the relatively new Myramar Shopping Centre in Fuengirola which houses many boutiques, Eroski supermarket, cinema, bars and restaurants as well as many of the high street stores such as Mango, Zara, Bershka and Pull & Bear. You will also find beauty stores stocking all the essential products not found in the supermarket such as Avene products and top end of the market make up ranges etc. For more top end clothing needs such as bespoke tailoring and a bespoke suit you may need to visit Marbella or Puerto Banus but the Myramar shopping centre certainly has a plethora of shops and will keep you shopping and entertained for hours.
